Poll #25: Blind Taste Test

Here is the subject of this week's Thursday Poll.

This shoe's identity will remain anonymous while I ask my Esteemed Readers if they like it. Please answer based solely on looks.

Do you think it's cute?

or

Would you give it the boot?

I'll give you the brand name on Sunday, when the poll is over.

NOTE: If you know the brand name, please don't give it away in the comments! Thank you. There's no image credit because I'm protecting the shoe's identity.

I love shiny. I must be part crow. But the shiny and the cork together just don't ring my chimes. Curious to know who made these bad boys ...

Jill Sherman said...

never really liked cork, but i love anything shiny and red.

CDP said...

I like them! I think I'd like them better in black.

Danielle said...

i just always fear that slapping sound that slip ons make while you walk. i need a strap in the back.

editor said...

i kinda wish "hate them" were an option in the poll, but i worked with what i had. ;)

I love cork, it's so comfortable. Might like them better in black but it's impossible to tell from a product shot; it's better to see it on the foot.

WendyB said...

In fact, I think you should try it on and show us a picture of that.

If a woman has pretty enough feet to wear sandals then that's all that matters.

I'm on the fence about these. They could look great or meh, depending on how they were put together with an outfit...

I really don't care for these. I know you're going to tell me that they are hideously expensive and designed by a sartorial genius, but...they look sort of cheap to me.

Honestly.....the boot. I kind of like the shiny top part, but the cork bottom bit....mmmm...no. I don't like cork in a shoe ever, at all....in a bottle of wine yes, especially once it's been removed:)

If they were higher I'd wear them. Hell, I would be ordering them in pink and black. They may be shiny but you see so little of the shiney against a foot, it could work. And I love a cork wedge. These for me would be a downstairs shoe, that you shove on no matter what you are wearing (Capris, turned up jeans, anything boyish)
So you have a bit of funkyness when you leave the house. They are also useful for getting things out of the high cupboards in the kitchen, without having to pull over my Fisher Price step.
xx

I'm pretty sure I hate them. Are they really that shiny? That corky? And are those silvertone studs?

Skye said...

Not high and scary enough for me! I do like the shiny red mock croc-ness though.

yulanda said...

I'm not a fan of cork either so I'll have to give them the boot.

if the cork was higher and the straps were thinner and the stud-like things weren't there...

no, even then i wouldn't like them.

Savvy Mode SG said...

i like them but will adore them if heels are higher. it's red, i adore red.

Sal: I felt they'd be better non-patent, too. Check back on Sunday.

Jill Sherman: It's an unusual combo.

CDP: FYI, there is a black version available.

Danielle: Some slip-ons do slap, but sometimes, depending on where the instep strap is, the are quiet. I think these might be quiet.

editor: You're always good for a write-in vote! :)

WendyB: Of course, the shoe is impossible to gauge without trying it on.

Dr. Monkey: Well said, and very polite. I can always count on you to keep the levels of decorum up to the highest standard.

K.Line: True, the outfit would need to play a strong role with these shoes.

PT&E: Ha ha! I'm so glad you have a strong opinion! Check back Sunday to see what's what with these.

bronwyn: Ah, a lover of the classical approach to cork! ;)

Hammie: Black, green, red, orange, and yellow are the options. I love your way of using this type of shoe, as sort of a makeshift stepladder.

miss cav: It's anybody's guess if they are that shiny. I have only the photo to go by. Yes, they are silvertone studs.

Skye: What's your favorite high and scary shoe?

yulanda: Thanks for weighing in, Y. It's nice to see you here.

teach people: LOL, these are clearly not for you.

Savvy: You're not the only one who would want these higher.

There's a pair of gold cork wedges on my blog which are as high and scary as I like to get...

but really anything high, scary and kind of freakishly ugly will get my loving attention!

The Seeker said...

No, not a fan of those.
But I would wear them to go to the beach ot to be aroud the house.

xoxo

Skye: I'll check those wedges out! You have a soft spot for a certain style of shoe, I see.

Seeker: Fair enough!

fashion herald said...

how high is the heel? can't really tell. low + cork is a tough one for me.

Marmalade Wombat said...

red licorice. strawberry. i would eat it.
but i'm not a big fan of the cork.

Annie said...

I'm not a big fan of cork bottoms but they're ok. Just ok. I doubt I would wear them..

KATLIN said...

This is such a great idea! I admit that I've been biased by designs because of the brand/designer. I really try to make sure I love the design before I buy it.

Carolina Lange said...

They look so comfortable!

ambika said...

The red is a bit too bright for me (something I thought I'd never say) or maybe it's just that the straps are so thick that the red seems brighter? & I'm really not feeling the sole.

enc said...

fashion herald: It's 2 1/8".

Marmalade: Probably not a good idea to eat it, even if you liked cork.

Annie: So you're in the middle, not moved either way, right?

KATLIN: I like to trick myself with these things, too, to make sure I'm not brand biased.

Carolina: This style of shoe is generally really comfortable.

ambika: This may not be the shoe for you! ;)
